Once again, here are some keyboard shortcuts that can greatly ease your computing experience. When you are typing, it sometimes is easier to use a shortcut over reaching for the mouse. So today's shortcuts all use the "start menu" key (Windows logo key) on your keyboard.

I often use a few keyboard shortcuts to handle simple tasks and to maneuver around the computer. Take a look and try some of these great time savers. (Tip: Use the sequence listed to get the proper response.)

Windows logo key + D
Shift to Desktop / Minimize all windows

Windows logo key + M
Minimize all windows.

Windows logo key + Tab
Cycle through programs on the taskbar by using Aero Flip 3-D (If you release Windows Key, it goes back to normal view.)

Ctrl + Windows logo key + Tab
Use the arrow keys to cycle through programs on the taskbar by using Aero Flip 3-D (It goes to Aero Flip 3-D view and even if you release all keyboard buttons, it still stays in Aero Flip 3-D. Until you decide you choose which program you wish to select.

Cycle through programs on the taskbar.

Windows logo key + Home
Minimize everything but the active window.

Windows logo key + E
Open Computer (what used to be called "My Computer")

Windows logo key + F
Search for a file or folder.

Windows logo key + number (1 for the program that is nearest to start button, 2 for second nearest and so on…) Start the program pinned to the taskbar in the position indicated by the number. If the program is already running, switch to that program.

Typing has become critical in this computer based world, not only from the workplace but also resumes and communication now rely on the keyboard instead of pen and paper. Google has released clear information on how to perform better in search engines. Provide useful, legitimate content! This update is called the " Helpful Content Update " and it is clear that original, informative information is king. A new sitewide ranking system is being added which awards people with good quality content. Now, this isn't really new, but it clarifies that your ranking can be impacted and if you are a subject matter expert in your field or business, make it shine! Utilize your website as informational, not just a short brochure or a business card. Show your knowledge and experience and make it work for your organically.
